Shore hardness test for elastomer liner

Using a fixed digital Shore hardness device, the liner is measured acc. to DIN 53505 to ensure it meets specifications. A defined inspection force guarantees that each measurement is taken with exact force, providing accurate results. The variable hand force of the inspector, which can produce different results, is excluded.

Measuring liner wall thickness

Wall thickness of the liner is a critical element of the valve. A fixed digital gauge is used to ensure specifications are met. This data is saved electronically and printed as a test record.

Measuring coating thickness

Coating thickness is digitally measured to ensure specifications are maintained.

Porosity free inspection of non conductive coatings

To assess the coating quality a high voltage porosity detector is used to scan the surface for any voids. A fine metal brush is dragged over the coating, if any sparks are detected the product is rejected.

Surface finish measurement

A profilometer is used to determine the roughness of a polished disc . This tool will define the exact profile of the surface in Rz.

Ultrasound wall thickness measurement

An ultrasonic measuring device (Echometer) measures the wall thickness of metal parts and determines the ultra sonic speed of the metal. The ultra sonic speed identifies the base material of the metal (Material identification inspection).

Positive Material Identification (PMI)

A portable Spectrotest device determines the chemical elements of materials and compares to standards in a data base to verify material composition is at the specified level.
